Don't forget to pack: bug spray, sun screen, jacket, drinks, snacks, maybe a deck of cards and good vibes! The service is OUTSTANDING and the food is DELICIOUS! We booked a trip just because and we'd do it again. They provide: ice, glassware, ice chest, binoculars, blanket, water and music. I brought my own little speaker and I loved it. This cruise with dinner is amazing. Takes three hours of beautiful sightings of the wildlife and all the great homes along the river. The dinner was to die for, cooked perfectly and big size portions. We had a great steak, salmon with salad, baked potato, squash and garlic bread to die for. Our tour guide was wonderful and made the whole experience one to never forget.

This was the most amazing cruise. We are new to the area and my husband wanted to do something special for our 51st anniversary. THIS WAS SPECIAL.Our oarsman, Dave, was wonderful. It was quite apparent he loves this job of cruising down the river. He shared some interesting things with us, but also gave us our privacy. We had an amazing dinner ...prepared right there on the boat. The sunset was beautiful, the river is beautiful and the entire evening is etched in my memory! If there were 10 Stars ...that's what I would give for this cruise!

Impressed overall

The good

Booked this cruise for our anniversary and it ended up being really fun. It's tough to find new things to do in Redding, it's a small town. We booked and then ended up needing to move our reservation because of the recent heat wave. Todd was very accommodating and changed our date with no problems.

Also, my wife is gluten free and they handled that REALLY well and with a great attitude about it. They provided GF salad dressing, garlic bread and croutons on top of delicious salmon that my wife loved. Well done.

The scenery was great and it was SO nice to sit back and enjoy the ride with my wife, not having to worry about a boat or food.

Our oarsman John was nice. Polite, knowledgeable about the river and lots of animals on the river.

The boat was great, comfortable and more private with the sun shade. They had some music provided, selections picked John.


The not as good

My steak was ok, but not overly amazing. Also, the only drinks available were bottled water. While they do allow you to BYOB or wine, it was something that I thought could have improved.

John was really chatty, especially during dinner when he stood right beside us as we ate... Also, it would have been nice to have used our selection of music and maybe I should have asked for that.



As I said, overall, really fun. $240 plus tip for steak and salmon, 3 hrs of beautiful scenery and a novel evening in Redding

August 17th the best anniversary gift I have given my wife we enjoyed the river the picture a stick evening what they beautiful sunset when I to give a thanks to Jordan our oarsmen. He kept a wonderful dinner our steaks was perfect a great salad and all the knowledge of the Sacramento river,

My husband took me on this River Romance Cruise for our anniversary, we had the most amazing time, food, music, scenery. The whole thing was 10 stars. We saw bald eagles, a beaver, and all kinds of amazing wild life. To top it off our guide was amazing too, we enjoyed his conversation and info he had on the wildlife out on the river! All I can say now is I can't wait to do this again!

Great time on this cruise. Dinner was great and the whole experience was great. Give them a try. Well worth it.

We were up in Redding visiting friends and they wanted to take us out to dinner, so with outdoor dining only, I couldn't think of a better way!! The 4 of us fit on the boat comfortably. The food was amazing! And Todd answered all our questions on bridges, homes, birds, etc. Had a blast! And will definitely recommend to friends when they're visiting the Redding area.

What a treat! This is a perfect way to spend a romantic evening in Redding. Drifting down the river, gorgeous weather and a tasty dinner. We would love to have the opportunity to do this again one day.

River Romance Tours offers guided drift boat cruises down the Sacramento River. I recently took my wife on a cruise for her birthday and it was amazing! The trip started at the convention center and went all the way down to the bonnyview launch ramp...about 3 hours or so total. We went under the Sundial Bridge which was just incredible. I have lived here for a long time and I had no idea the river had such amazing scenery. Along the way, the gentleman rowing the boat stops on the river and grills up a phenomenal dinner that you eat in the boat! The person rowing the boat stays behind a canopy that keeps you out of the sun. Our guide was obviously very skilled and was careful not to invade our privacy, but he was so wonderful we ended up chatting with him most of the way. This was really an experience and my wife and I were absolutely thrilled!
