A great pub, with reasonably priced drink and an amazing outdoor space. Many levelled, wooden benches, plants and flowers galore and lots of private seating so you never feel overlooked. This is such a fab location for a pint after work in the sun or to relax all day on a Sunday. They also have a Thai restaurant and the food smells good! Great for sports fans, they also do a weekly pub quiz.
No reservations available. Hidden away on a back road near Finsbury Park it is quite a trek from central but if you are in the area a definite recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Megan G.Denver, Spojené státy231672. 11. 2017
I've called 8 times and no one ever answers the phone, why do you even have a phone number listed if you have zero intentions of ever answering it.
Not impressed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Vicky O.Birmingham, Velká Británie1682504300610. 4. 2015
Aw man... After reading the reviews of the garden, I feel like I missed a trick here!
We popped in on the hunt for Thai for lunch. Alas, the Thai food isn't served until 6:30 on a Saturday, so we decided to nurse a couple of pints whilst we pondered where we would go for lunch.
We sat inside the pub (by the bar), hence not seeing the garden. I really liked the quirky decor of different bits and bobs hanging from the ceiling and cuttings and clippings on the wall, but it definitely had a sports pub vibe.
They had a couple of craft ales on tap and it didn't seem too expensive price-wise. I believe a couple of pints was shy of £9 (which is crazy for Birmingham prices, but seems about average for London). I can't really say a lot more, as we only had a fleeting visit - but consider this review a placeholder for a much more detailed summary of the gardens and the food when we next get back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 7. 8. 20122 check-ins
The Faltering Fullback is like an enchanted pub...with the most stunning, labyrinth-like outside area I've ever seen! Seriously, you could get lost by just walking up and down the stairs...at every corner you see locals hanging out and just enjoying the relaxed atmosphere. There are flowers everywhere, which lends it another mystical atmosphere. Having said this, the outside was the unique-selling point for me.
The inside is typical for a traditional (Irish) pub...you can feel the ghosts of many years of patrons having gone in and out. And these are true locals and not hipsters! In fact, I was there on a Monday night and when we were leaving I could hear the pub quiz going on, with people shouting loud and lively.
Like so many other London pubs, the Faltering Fullback offers Thai food on their menu - I still haven't quite wrapped my head around this seemingly common symbiosis, but why not...
Really loved it here...great vibes!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Joseph T.Londýn, Velká Británie72724619. 11. 2008První recenzent
The Faltering Fullback has won local awards and is generally considered the best pub in Finsbury Park. Where, in keeping with name, sports are shown.
The inside of the pub is divided into two areas; a handsome traditional bar at the front a slightly ugly barn like area at the back with pool tables and a jukebox. Outside there is a spacious split-level decked seating area, pleasant in the summer.
The charm of the Fallback is that whilst many pubs are either gritty and intimidating or contrived and aspirational, it feels organic in it's appearance and clientele, attracting a good mix of Finsbury Park community. It is the sort of place where you immediately feel comfortable.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kirsty H.Londýn, Velká Británie5376946. 4. 2016
I've been here a number of times as it's the perfect place to sit outside and soak up the rays (when we actually get some).
I don't reckon much in the drinks however, they are rather pricey and several times I have ordered a rum and coke and the glass is only half filled. They use the tiny glass bottles of coke which don't even fill up half a pint glass. When I confronted them about this they made me order another coke to add to my drink - I was not impressed.
A great place to go for a chilled night - make sure you go right to the top of the decking for the best seats!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Francesco C.Londýn, Velká Británie21471. 8. 2016

The 'Fullback' as it's known locally is a great traditional english pub. It has a really friendly atmosphere and is separated into 2 very differently decorated rooms. The front room is dimly lit, and really cosy, this too has been split into 2 areas and has a really warm ambience.
The back room has more of a 'younger vibe', brightly lit with a funkier feel to it. Complete with quiz machine, jukebox and a pool table. The music is at the right volume and if you fancy a bit of quiet you can pop out into the beautiful hidden roof terrace.
The rear of the pub is the beer garden/roof terrace which has it's own bar. there is the floor level and around it is a rooftop terrace, dimly lit and really chilled. It is in a square shape so you can walk up one side of the stairs and do a full circuit and come back down the other side and back into the back room of the pub. It also has split levels at the top and some hidden areas.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Daniel F.Londýn, Velká Británie14273033518. 9. 2015
Best pub in North London for me. I go here a lot after Arsenal games. But then I go here regularly during the summer as it has the BEST outdoor terrace out back which you wouldn't expect. Also from 6pm is an awesome thai hole in wall for food. Such good pad thai.
Great for football and rugby screenings, good vibe as lots of students go there too. It's a great mix all round. Love it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
