I had to stop here to use the electric car charger and the staff were chatty and polite, the cup of tea good and it was a pleasant place to wait for my car to top up.

The time had come for that perfect Sunday roast. I have been here before and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
This time I was left bitterly disappointed. As I approached the door with excitement for some food a sign on the door read no carvery due to unforeseen circumstances.
Gutted was an understatement. I have to give this place 3 stars as I enjoyed food on previous visits but this time just disappointed.
There is a large car park wich is great as I no this place gets busy. Sundays there usually is a small wait.
I really like the outside of this pub has a warm feeling to the place.
Overall was left disappointed, a place usually good to visit. Will go back at some point and just hope they have food available !Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Heather W.Emersons Green, Velká Británie337210712. 11. 2014
I love a good carvery every now and again and toby carvery is probably the nicest I have had.
You have a choice of four meats, turkey, gammon, pork and beef with a variety of different veg and a Yorkshire pudding. This is all cooked well and never over cooked or bland. They give you the option to 'king size' for an extra £1.50 which adds more meat, an extra Yorkshire and two sausages.
The pub itself is really big and can seat loads but on a Sunday it is always super busy so you will probably have to wait for a table.
Mon-Sat carvery prices are £6.99 and on a Sunday they are £9.49. Toby Carvery do offer a pub menu Mon-Sat but on a Sunday it's just carvery or a vegetarian menu. They also off an all you can eat breakfast for £3.99.
Worth a visit if you're in the area!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Lucy G.Bristol, Velká Británie3184701. 12. 2014
I went here yesterday and oh my...was i a bad judge of character, so unlike me haha
I always thought these kinda places were horrid, chavvy and lacking any kind of personality but.....it was alright!
it was mega busy but as there were two of us didn't have to wait long.
I was sensible and had a normal size roast beef meal and my friend piling on as much food as she good (greedy guts).
I don't like the school cafe type situ where you take your plate and slide along asking for what you want...but the food i did eat was really nice!
The best bit, unlimited gravy!
I'll confess, i'm a gravy hogger. i don't own a gravy boat because they don't fit enough gravy in them. I like gravy so much i have a roast dinner soup almost so i was very happy to have a giant ladle and a pot filled with the roasty juices!
Price was very reasonable at £9.45.
No frills and nothing special but it was a decent hearty meal in nice surroundings.
I still prefer independent country pubs BUT, teach me for judging :)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Stuart B.Cardiff, Velká Británie02591311. 1. 2009První recenzent
The carvery itself is a bargain. We went to Toby Carvery because we'd got some discount vouchers that made it sound super-cheap, and when we got there we found that we were only saving about 50p because it's super-cheap anyway. For a fiver you can get your choice (or a bit of each) from chicken, gammon and beef, and as many vegetables as you want to eat.
Like other carveries, the meat is a little bit of a gamble- depending on when you're eating and how busy they've been, you might end up with the juiciest newly-roasted cut, or a dry bit that's been sat on display for too long. Only decide what meat you want at the moment you get asked The vegetables are all steamed, making them a bit tasteless and soggy but they're not too bad considering.
Sadly the bargain carvery is the only attraction to this place. Some of the staff are friendly but others are just downright grumpy. The attempts at character in the decor feel very artificial, the whole place just feels a bit cold, clinical and miserable- it's just not a 'nice' pub. But if cheap pub food is what you're after, it'll sort you out.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chloe C.Emersons Green, Velká Británie9241227. 4. 2014
Got told table would be 20 minute wait but In fact we were at our table within 10 minutes and this is on a Sunday where they are at their busiest.
The best part of this trip to Toby Carvery was the waitress. I have never been served by such a lovely and enthusiastic lady! You can tell that she is so passionate about doing her job to her best ability. She made my roast dinner taste so much better!!
Her name was Kate and I thought she was fantastic!
Great place, great food! Under £9.50 on a Sunday for a huge plate of food and a huge Yorkshire pudding!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Uživatel Qype (igran…)Bristol, Velká Británie110122. 6. 2010
About as much atmosphere as a bag of smashed crabs, unfortunately all new build pubs within newish built housing estates suffer the same fate, however it does do a very cheap carvery that isn't too bad, it's not great but a choice of 3 meats, veg and all the trimmings for the price is a good deal, the only positive I could find on my visit!

Don't bother. Plastic pub. Poor service. Poor stewed and tasteless food. Been a few times over the years. Never again. Prefer to stay in! Save your money and go somewhere else.
