Great location and superb sound. not too crowded and they hand out free water in concerts.

I am surprised some fellow Yelpers found room for an additional star . . . Primary problem is consistently the same one every other reviewer seems to have: poor acoustics. We arrived early to stake a place by the sound board, but even at this "prime location" the sound suffered. Moved beyond the sound board (and the bar right behind the sound board -- yes, a bar in the middle of a standing room only venue), only to find we were getting acoustic rebounds off the back wall. Uggh! We felt the band couldn't get off the stage fast enough, nor could we wait to exit ourselves. Disappointed is an understatement. Surely in a city the size of Munich a better concert venue exists??

Checked out Boris Brejcha on my first night in Munich. I might not be any type of expert but I thought it sounded ok in there. My boyfriend agreed too. The show was scheduled 11pm-5 am. We arrived around 11:30. The queue to get in when we got there was really short. They do give you a thorough pat down (no metal detectors) and a (half assed) bag check. There was a VERY long queue to check your coat. Drink prices were on the expensive side compared to other venues I've seen in Germany but still not bad compared to the U.S. Beer was 4.50€, gin/tonic 9.50€, vodka red bull 9.50€, bottle of water 3.50€. But they won't make a drink unless its on their menu (oh well). There was a ton of room to move around & dance. After the venue filled up the queue for the girls restroom was insane. An Uber back to central Munich was 35€. We had a great time seeing a techno show in Germany!!! Good vibes

We saw Dropkick Murphys here - the venue was bigger than i expected. Acoustics were pretty bad, and I was wondering if they packed in more people than the fire-code allows since the place was SO packed.
Most annoying was everyone chain-smoking standing right in front of all the signs saying 'Rauchen Verboten' (No Smoking). And I did not dare to try the toilets.
Show was great though!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Judy C.Mnichov, Německo12270713620. 1. 2014
A bad review isn't going to change the bands' minds to play there, so off I rant.
Going to Zenith (or any large music venue) to catch a show requires the following:
* A lot of patience/endurance: You would have to stand for over 3-4 hours for the show. You would have to wait long during sound checks and intermission. If you take the U-bahn to go there, then you would hope that you are lucky enough to find some space in the train after the show ends.
* A lot of inner peace/tolerance: You would have to go through bag (and sometimes body) checks. You would have all sorts of people screaming at you if you annoy them (i.e. security not getting what they want, take pictures in front of others, or someone taller stands in front of them). You would have to pay double the average price for a not-so-tasty drink.
Because of the boxiness and high ceiling, the acoustic is not the best. Also, the standing area has many large structural pillars, which can easily block the view of the stage.
Only go there if you must see a band that you love love love and worth all the hassle. Otherwise, think twice before buying a (quite expensive) ticket.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Erika T.Los Angeles, Spojené státy97822918. 2. 2015
Saw Alt-J here last night and I thought the venue really sucked. Everyone is pretty much sardined into this venue, there are pillars everywhere which makes it difficult to see, and the acoustics are ok. The event felt more stressful than enjoyable.
