I don't need your life story in a restaurant review. Keep it simple.

My girlfriends brought me here the other night for my birthday. Cute spot.

We made dinner reservations even though this place is best known for their drinks. The menu looked appealing.

      The Good:
There's not much of a dinner crowd, so there was no wait for our table. The place mostly picks up after 9 or 10 when the pre-club crowd comes trickling in.
The drinks. Yummy. They are on the expensive side, but I love that the mixologists will tailor a drink to what you're in the mood for. I gave them a list of flavors I liked and magically a delicious drink appeared before me.
Customer service was delightful. Our waitress, bartender, and the manager were friendly, funny, and attentive.

      The So So:
Food: I enjoyed most of the fare. There was mixed reviews at our table about the mac n cheese, and the shrimp and grits. I liked both, one of my other friends wasn't into either. I will say the lobster mac n cheese while tasty, was $23 and had maybe 1/2 claw worth of meat in it. They could have done better than that.
Tuna Tartar = good. Pizetta was too doughy. It was more like a pita than a pizza crust.
My biggest complaint was that I ordered the mussels sans chorizo, since I don't eat pork. They came and were delicious, but after downing a few i noticed the abundance of chorizo in my sauce. I wasn't happy about that, however the staff was super apologetic, and removed it from the bill, and comped a round of drinks for the table. I was satisfied with the fix. Brussel Sprouts were good.

The donut sticks for dessert were interesting. They looked more like chicken fingers than anything, but they were served warm, and with a salty caramel sauce for dipping that I loved.

All in all I would definitely return for the yummy drinks, and if I were to order food, I know what I would order again, and what I would leave off. Nothing was bad, just not suited to my particular tastes perhaps.

I would recommend this to a friend.

The Conrad San Juan Condado Plaza is a decent hotel in a good location. While the decor isn't spectacular, it's fine, and the rooms were clean and cute. That's mostly what I'm looking for when I travel to the Caribbean, since I plan to spend most of my time outdoors. There are also plenty of restaurants within walking distance form the hotel.

My small but necessary to point out complaints are as follows:

      1. The room walls are paper thin. If you are unfortunate enough to be booked in a room next door to another guest as I was, be prepared to feel as if you are SHARING ONE ROOM. I was able to hear everything that went on in surrounding rooms, and I mean EVERYTHING (unfortunately there was a couple staying next door - please feel free to let your mind wander here). Ewww.

      2. The hotel advertised wifi throughout the entire property. I was only able to pick up the wifi in the lobby area. It did not reach my room nor the pool area. A hotel employee at the pool confirmed that was typical, but the front desk pretended to be unaware of the problem. It wasn't fixed at any point during my stay. Had to pay roaming charges to check business emails.

      3. The hotel advertises it is on the beach. False. It is on the ocean, and there is a very small man-made beach on one side of the pool. The beach area is also open onto the street, and the general public can access it and they do. If you're looking for beach time, I suggest staying somewhere else, or traveling to a real beach.

      4. On the morning of my departure, I requested the option of late checkout since my flight didn't leave until the evening. The manger behind the desk seemed annoyed at my request, and spoke to me in a very patronizing manner which I did not appreciate. I requested that I be accommodated based on the problems I had (mentioned above) and although she did agree to extend our room stay into the afternoon, I was charged $50 which I thought was petty. That $50 will probably prevent me from making a return stay.

Overall, the Conrad is a decent hotel that has the potential to be better, but lacks the small details and service that it takes to push it from 3 to 4 stars.

Had the opportunity to try this place a few months back, and I must say I was very pleased. I live in NYC, and there's so much good food here, but I often am not impressed with the BBQ selection. Took a trip to Toms River NJ to get it right. Who woulda thunk it?

The wings were perfectly crisp. I hate getting a soggy wing where the skin is still soft. Gross. Not these though, they were crispy and the sauce was amazing.

I also tried the lettuce wraps, which I've never seen outside of an asian restaurant before. These had a lovely flavor, with a nice american BBQ twist to them.

Next time I'm in town I will definitely be going back to try a few more of their menu items.

I wish I would have read the reviews here before making an appointment.

I had a 10am appointment today for a routine check up and cleaning. I was there for a total of 2 hours and 45 minutes! My total time seen was approx 10 minutes. To avoid patients walking out due to long wait times, they break up your visit into sections.

I arrived 10 minutes to 10 and signed in. I was not even given paperwork to fill out until 10:30am (my appointment time was 10) even though I asked upon entering. After giving them back my paperwork, I waited another half hour to be called in. I was then given x-rays and sent back into the waiting room. After another 30-45 mins I was called back in to see the dentist. He looked at my X-rays, stuck his hand in my mouth for 3 seconds and sent me back into the waiting room. I then waited until maybe 12:15pm or so to be called in by the hygienist who cleaned my teeth. I thought I was done...but nooooooo. I was sent back into the waiting room AGAIN to wait on the administrator to - get this- check out.

The administrator then told me I had a gum infection that requires a $900 prescription that you can only get there and no insurances cover it, but I can work out a payment plan.

I'm not sure who had the time to inspect my gums in all that mess, but no one said anything to me about it. Needless to say I declined and will follow up with another Dental Practice later.

For a Dental Practice that accepts major insurance plans, they run it like a free std clinic.

      I will never go back.

A group of friends and I took two of our girlfriends out for their 30th birthday.

Let me start with the best part: Our waiter. Not bad on the eyes at all.

The food was pretty good. There's some kind of flatbread with truffle oil and arugula. Get it ($24 price tag for bread aside).

      Rock Shrimp Tempura-good
      Crab Cakes- pretty good

I got the lobster ravioli as an entree, and was pleasantly surprised with how much lobster they packed in there. There was also pieces of lobster on the side. Good hearty dish.

The dessert menu was lacking in choices, so we skipped that.

      I'd go back (on payday).
